The Life and Times of the Brothers Hogg

The Life and Times of the Brothers Hogg are Darren Capp (Lead vocals, Guitar, Banjo) Simon Huxford (Double bass, vocals), Nena Mager (Percussion, vocals) and Shane Thornberry (Mandolin, Guitar, vocals). They hail from North East Lincolnshire, and have been performing their own original brand of folky, bluegrass-tinged Americana music for the last 8 years.

They have been described as ‘Southern Bluesy excellence’ by BBC Humberside’s Alan Raw, after playing numerous times on the introducing program.

The band are known for their soaring four part harmonies, foot stomping rhythms and immersive storytelling talents.

They released their second album in 2016, Celestial Emporium, an absolute triumph which gained a 9/10 review from Americana UK, “a record that is enjoyable from the first moment to the last, it has its own distinct identity, quirks and eccentricities that make it stand out”. They have another on its way too.

Playing on Saturday.
