Southwell Goes Global!
Are you unable to come to this year’s festival? Are you coming but have friends or family who are unable to join you? If so, we have the solution: for the first time, we are providing a live stream of the festival, free-of-charge, via the internet.
A team of camera men & women will be capturing all the best bits; these will be processed on-the-fly in the new editing suite, and uploaded via a satellite link to the host site for your enjoyment.
To view the video stream, for the duration of the festival, visit live.southwellfolkfestival.org.uk.
You can start planning your timetable now!
There’s so much happening – why not start working out your personal itinerary ? Details of the concerts in marquees 1 and 2 are now available on the website www.southwellfolkfestival.org.uk/whats-on/concerts as are all the workshops www.southwellfolkfestival.org.uk/whats-on/workshops
Workshops galore – you’ll be spoilt for choice
With the arrival of our 3 Yurts in the woods adjacent to the site – the workshop programme is our best ever with over 35 different sessions. Check them out on www.southwellfolkfestival.org.uk/whats-on/workshops/
Our Wonderful Stewards
A huge THANK-YOU to all the stewards who worked so hard in the run-up, clear-up and during the Festival.
Their job was not made any easier by the terrible rain on Sunday and the encroaching mud on Monday but they all persevered without any complaints and carried on smiling!
The stewards act as Ambassadors to the Festival and the event would not be able to function without them. This year there was a special air of camaraderie (perhaps in the face of adversity!) and I know several new friendships were germinated which will last long after the Festival.
We always have a valiant group of regular helpers who return year after year but this year we had many new faces who I hope enjoyed the experience enough to return again.
We would love to hear from you with your comments, suggestions or just your experience of working at the Southwell Festival. Either download a Feedback form or email us.
….and to finish a quote from a satisfied customer as she was leaving on Monday:
‘the stewards are not just brilliant ….. they are bloody fantastic!!’
Fire and Belly – two more dance spectacles added
Friday night will climax at 11pm with the unique masked dancers Mr Fox with their firebrands and on Monday , Nottingham Tribal Belly Dancers will dance American Tribal Syle. Can’t wait… just 30 days to go!
Last few days of discounted tickets – don’t miss out!
The ticket discounts end on 30 April so make sure you’ve got yours before then. Such great value – 4 days of music, dance and fun for everyone.
Granny Turismo are back this year!
2012 Festival favourites Granny Turismo are back this year with their special Olympic show. One of the most talked-about acts around. The show has universal appeal and is part walkabout, part circle show and wholly engaging. When Doris, Mary and Marge arrive on their souped-up shopping trolleys, everyone takes notice.www.grannyturismo.net
