Clannad singer joins international Southwell Festival

May 27, 2014   //   by mikekirrage   //   News  //  No Comments
Moya Brennan, the voice of Clannad, will be making special guest appearances at the Gate to Southwell Folk Festival on Saturday and Sunday June 7th and 8th.
Moya Brennan, the voice of Clannad, is rightly regarded as one of the greatest vocalists (and harpists) to have emerged from the Irish and Celtic folk and folk rock scene.  Having sold millions of records with her siblings in Clannad during a 40 year career – including BAFTA and Grammy Award-winning hits such as ‘In A Lifetime’ with Bono from U2, the TV themes from ‘Harry’s Game’ and ‘Robin of Sherwood’, and ‘I Will Find You’ from the film The Last Of the Mohicans – Moya visits Southwell for the first time with her own family band. En route to performing at Glastonbury, Moya with husband Tim and offspring Aisling and Paul will perform on Saturday evening and also join forces with acclaimed Irish sisters The Henry Girls, who come from Moya’s home county of Donegal.  Whilst they have collaborated in informal sessions back home, this will be the first time this exciting combination has been seen in a concert setting.  Moya and family will also perform on Sunday afternoon.
